The Power of Resourcing & Vagal Toning
One of the powerful techniques we use is vagal toning.. This involves practices that stimulate the vagus nerve, which is crucial for regulating your nervous system. By enhancing vagal tone through specific exercises, you can improve your ability to stay calm and centered. Resourcing, a part of this practice, involves tapping into positive memories, sensations, or images that make you feel safe enough, supported and connected. These resources can be used to bring your system back to balance during stressful times, allowing you to remain present and responsive to your children.
Showing Up for Your Children
When you parent from your center, emotionally aware, and aligned with your vision, you can be more present and responsive to your children’s needs. You’ll create a more supportive and nurturing environment where your children feel seen, heard, and understood. This presence fosters secure attachment and emotional safety for them, promoting their healthy development. Imagine your child is having a tantrum. Instead of reacting with frustration, you take a deep breath, center yourself, and approach the situation with connection and curiosity. You kneel to your child’s level, acknowledge their feelings, and provide comfort, all while maintaining your own emotional balance.​​
